Bilingual Energy & Industry - Project Manager

What's the role?

*the selected candidate can reside in Ontario, preference Toronto (GTA) or Quebec with a preference for Montreal*

The Project Manager will coordinate efforts of a team of Account Managers, Regional Managers, and Field Engineers associated with key projects on converting obtained project specifications into sales. Hold key job site meetings to ensure focus is maintained and to track progress of team efforts on key projects. Track
sales and action plan progress with the assistance of the Regional Manager and Account Managers. Establish and maintain high level contacts with buying and non-buying customers on key projects.

What does the role involve?

• Drive the planning and execution of assigned projects including all aspects of the project (specifications, application solutions, legal, financial, product supply and logistics). • Identify and analyze opportunities for Hilti products and services and secure their specification/approval from project stakeholders (Owner, Architect, Design Firms, Contractors and Subcontractors) either directly or indirectly (i.e. via Business Developer’s, Field Engineers, Fire Protection Specialist, etc.) • Develop business/capture plans for the project and formulate specific strategies to get Hilti solutions and systems approved and used by project stakeholders. • Manage assigned project portfolio to increase share of wallet and project penetration including achievement of individual goals for each project and at each phase. • Develop and manage relationships with external (Owner, Architect, Design Firms, Contractors and Subcontractors) and internal stakeholders (all Hilti functions) related to the project to maximize project share of wallet. • Professionalize project management approach (including Hi-Site and capture plans) • Gather and report market information (market indicators, market trends, competitive moves / actions, innovations, new business conditions, etc.) • Coordinate any product or process trainings/seminars needed for achievement of project goals. • Implement professional project management (including Hi-Site/CRM 7.0) on assigned projects and support initiatives to encourage Hi-Site usage across their Division • Provide indirect coaching and mentoring of segmented Field Sales team members and Engineers • Prepare reports on project execution activities and financial status to line management.
• Present project management progress during Divisional meetings

What you need is:

• Bachelor’s in Engineering or technical equivalent required • Master’s Degree in either Engineering, Marketing or MBA preferred • Five (5) years of combined Trade, Product Management or Field Sales Experience (Energy) • Minimum of two (2) years’ Project Management experience • Ability to work inclusively with multiple international, regional and local team members • Ability to communicate effectively and influence team members and project stakeholders at all levels, including executives • Excellent communication skills, presentation skills and training competencies • Experience in gathering data, market research and project analysis
• Bilingual proficiency in French & English preferred

Combination of office, customer office, and jobsite visits will be required Up to 40% of domestic and international travel required with occasional overnight travel Adverse Working Conditions: • Job requires walking on construction sites and uneven surfaces, as well as climbing scaffolding, ladders, and stairs during all seasons of the year • Depending on geography employees may be exposed to adverse heat or cold • Construction jobsites may also expose employees to excessively loud noises; ear protection is strongly encouraged and may be required on some jobsites Safety Equipment Required: • Hardhat, safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, steel toe boots, and long pants required for working jobsites; must observe and abide by any and all safety regulations as required by Hilti, Canadian Occupational Health and Safety Regulations (COHSR), and General Contractors Physical Requirements: • Must be able to walk on construction projects, climb scaffolding, and lift and carry up to 65 pounds of Hilti product
